The project will test the effect of a
communications intervention on knowledge level, fear, threat, and
efficacy perceptions regarding silica dust and silicosis and
intentions and attitudes to practice safer worksite methods when
exposed to silica dust. The participants include 40 masonry
contractors and 200 masonry workers from both union and non-union
businesses.
