The purpose of this data collection is
evaluation of school-based HIV, other STD, and pregnancy prevention
programs for high school students in alternative high schools. The
program being evaluated is a multi-component intervention, which
includes an HIV/STD skills-based curriculum, a peer support
component, and a service learning component. Schools with the
program will be compared with schools implementing their standard
HIV prevention curricula. Twenty-four schools in northern
California will be randomly assigned to the two
conditions.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
