This order was released on December
31, 1998, and has received emergency approval from OMB, which
expires on May 31, 1999. The Commission is now seeking regular,
3-year approval for these burdens. Specifically, the order
suspended enforcement of section 20.18 of the Commission's E911
rules, relating to the transmission of 911 calls made from TTY
devices using digital wireless systems. The order also established
a period for filing waivers, which ended on December 4, 1998, and
established waiver requirements and showings, which must be filed
every 3 months.
