The Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant
Act of 1998 (Act), Public Law 105-181, June 16, 1998, authorizes
the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) to provide funds to Indian
tribes and to State and units of local government to assist them
with purchasing armor vests that meet the standard established by
the National Institute of Justice for law enforcement officers as
defined in the Act. Information collection is necessary to provide
these funds to eligible jurisdictions.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
