Abstract: Frogwatch USA was created as a means to detect population trends in populations of frogs and toads throughout the United States. This group of animals has been undergoing large scale declines and extinctions in the U.S. and the world. Interested volunteers do 3 minute counts of calling frogs and toads in the spring at their ponds and wetlands and submit their data via the World Wide Web to a data base. Data collected act as a baseline for comparisons with future years and document understanding of the extent and magnitude of these changes.
