Manchaca et al. v. Chater requires SSA
to conduct a study in the State of Texas to determine SSA's
compliance with the court ruling. As part of the study, SSA will
survey a random sample of title II and title XVI
applicants/recipients. The survey will determine the level of the
respondent's awareness of food stamp processing in SSA field
offices in Texas and the degree to which field offices have
complied with the food stamp application procedures. The
respondents are title II and the title XVI
applicants/recipients.
