The proposed Steel Erection Standard
and its information collection is designed to provide protection
for employees from the hazards associated with steel erection. The
proposed standard requires employers to provide notification,
prepare a certification, obtain approval or written direction, or
prepare a site-specific erection plan to ensure that certain
activities have been performed in a manner that will provide
employee safety during steel erection.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
