This study is being conducted to
support the legislative requirement in Public Law 103-382, section
1501, to assess the implementaion of title I and education reform.
It will examine principals' and teachers' understanding and
implementation of standards-based reform and the new provisions of
title I. Information on schools serving significant proportions of
migrant, limited-English proficient (LEP), or Native American
students and schools that have been identified as in need of
improvement will also be gathered.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding
the proposed collection of information, that the certification
covers:
