This information
collection is approved under the following conditions: ERS will
conduct separate analyses of the data for people above and below
185 percent of poverty to examine why high income people are food
insecure, i.e. job loss. We recommend adding new questions to the
survey to support this analysis. In addition, as previously agreed
to by FNS, ERS will continue to solicit input from the research
community concerning the measure and how it is computed.

This supplement will collect data on
household food expenditures; food assistance program participation;
and concerns, experiences, and behaviors related to household food
adequacy that will aid USDA in developing a measure of the extent
of food insecurity and hunger in the U.S.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
