This information
collection request is approved through August 31, 2000, subject to
the following terms of clearance. Prior to its submission of this
collection to OMB for renewal, EPA should verify its estimates of
the burden associated with the collection based on actual
implementation of the LDR Phase IV Mineral Processing Final
Rule.

Under the Land Disposal Restrictions
(LDR) program, records must be kept and notification reports must
be developed identifying hazardous waste under 40 CFR part 268.7 so
that they can be treated to meet the LDR treatment standards under
section 268.40. Certification must indicate treatment has occured.
Variances from the treatment standards must be applied for under
section 268.44.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
