Under section 1414(c)(3) of the
reauthorized Safe Drinking Water Act, States and territories are
required to prepare a summary and detailed report listing public
water systems violations in four categories: Maximum Contaminate
Levels, Treatment Techni- ques, Variances and Exemptions, and
Monitoring Violations. EPA needs to collect the information on
drinking water systems violations from States, territories, and
Indian lands to prepare a national report that aggregates the
information collected from the States and territories, as well as a
report on Indian tribe information.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
