These data are needed to ensure that
PCBs/PCB items are disposed of in facilities that are protective of
health and the environment. The Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA)
requires the EPA Administrator to prescribe methods for the
disposal of PCBs. To meet its statutory obligations, EPA must
obtain sufficient information to make a determination that the
operation of a facility does not pose an unreasonable risk to
health or the environment. EPA needs the information to review
applications for disposal approvals. Respondents are PCB waste
disposal companies.
