Persons wishing to conduct otherwise
prohibited activities in a national marine sanctuary must apply for
and receive a permit. Persons granted a permit must file reports
upon the activity conducted. Application information is used to
ensure that the proposed action is consistent with the objectives
of the sanctuary, and information in the reports will assist in the
maintenance of a data base with an inventory of sanctuary resources
and their condition. Primary respondents would be underwater
archaeologists, historians, educators, and recreational
divers.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
