12 U.S.C. 1818(q) requires an insured
depository institute to provide the FDIC with a certification when
it partially or completely assumes deposit liabilities from another
insured depository institution. 12 U.S.C. 1818(a)(6) requires an
insured depository institution seeking to voluntarily terminate its
insured status to provide FDIC with a copy of the proposed
depositor notification letter before the notification is provided
to the institution's depositors.
