PTO requested
exemption from the requirement to display the OMB Control Number on
the PCT-prescribed documents. OMB regulations do not permit total
exemption from the "display" requirement. However, in accordance
with 5 CFR 1320.5(b)(ii)(D), PTO is hereby instructed by publish
the OMB Control Number and other information required by 5 CFR
1320.5(b)(i) in its implementing regulations to appear in the CFR.
This will satisfy the display requirement. All forms designed,
prescribed by, and under the control of PTO shall continue to
display the OMB Control Number, expiration date, and proper notice
under the PRA. PTO should consider the potential uses of
information technology to reduce burden for this collection of
information.
