This collection
is approved on condition that the Census Bureau investigate and
report to OMB as soon as possible (but within 60 days) on any
possible quality problems with the interview process in the regions
(particularly in New York, Chicago, Denver, and Los Angeles
regions). Certain Wave 1 test results that have come to our
attention show indications that the interview process may be "out
of control" (in the QC sense) in some regions. Some of these
results are consistent with large upward excursions of the Type A
non-response rate (e.g., high outliers) which may or may not show
up in normal performance measures. The report should indicate plans
for addressing any specific problems identified.
