Terms of Clearance: OMB does not approve this package. OMB is concerned that the reporting and recordkeeping requirements in NPRM may be overly burdensome and wishes to allow the private sector the opportunity to fully consider the Inorganic Arsenic NPRM. When the paperwork package is re-submitted for OMB approval at the final rule stage, the agency will directly address OMB's concerns and any public comments received on these issues in the preamble of the rule in the paperwork submission package. OMB notes the September 12, 1996, correspondence, briefly describing OSHA's plans for the continued use of the ICR if the associated final rule is not published before the package expires. A copy of the proposed rule has been attached.

Abstract: The purpose of this standard and its information collection requirements is to provide for employees from the health effects associated with occupational exposure to the carcinogen, inorganic arsenic. Employers must monitor employee exposure; reduce employee exposures to within permissible exposure limits; and provide medical examinations, training, and other information.
