As part of the
final rulemaking package NRC should review the burden estimates and
ensure that the burden for all collections under this OMB number
are accounted for in the burden estimate. In addition, NRC should
respond to any public comments received and should particularly
address the question of whether respondents will have to implement
changes in standard procedures and/or give training to employees in
order to comply with this ICR.

The 10 CFR part 20 proposed rule would
require reporting of events that cause or have the potential to
cause an exposure of individuals, whether or not the exposure
exceeds the regulatory limits. The proposed rule would add a new
requirement for licensees to notify the NRC Operations Center
within 24 hours after finding any event of intentional or allegedly
intentional deviation of licensed radioactive material from its
intended or authorized use.
