UNDER THE FD&C ACT, FDA IS CHARGED
WITH PREVENTION OF INTERSTATE DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD WHICH IS
POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS TO THE PUBLIC HEALTH. THIS COLLECTION OF
INFORMATION WILL PERMIT FDA TO EXERCISE BETTER CONTROL AND INCREASE
ASSURANCE THAT EVERY CONTAINER OF LOW-ACID AND ACIDIFIED FOOD
RECEIVES A PROCESS WHICH RENDERS THE FOOD SAFE FROM MICROORGANISMS
OF PUBLIC HEALTH CONCERN.
