Abstract: The goal of the program is to improve the global competitiveness of the U.S. manufacturing industries. The measurement is taken by the MEP through their 44 Manufacturing Extension Partnership centers, which provide technical and business assistance to small and medium-size manufacturing establishments. The Census Bureau will contact these manufacturing establishments to gather information for use by NIST and the MEP centers.
