This clearance
is approved according to the Paperwork Reduction Act and 5 USC 1320
through March 1998. For each clearance that would like to collect
additional data to the basic topics approved, an Inventory
Correction Worksheet specifying the additional data will be
submitted to OMB for clearance. This Worksheet should specify the
question wording to be used and the Census Bureau experience with
collecting the particular data. The number of additional topics
should be limited in scope.

The purpose of this data collection is
to provide current population and housing counts for local
government between decennial censuses. When requested, we conduct
special censuses for states, counties, and other governmental units
which require current population data between decennia
censuses.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
