THE PURPOSE OF THE ATS IS TO OBTAIN
INFORMATION ABOUT THE DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL TRIPS TAKEN BY
PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THE UNITED STATES TO PLAN FOR FUTURE
TRANSPORTATION NEEDS AND TRAVEL SERVICES. THE DOT, OTHER GOVERNMENT
AGENCIES, AND BUSINESSES WILL USE THE DATA TO IMPROVE OUR NATION'S
TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS.
