OMB does not
approve the collection of Social Security Numbers at this time. HUD
has failed to provide sufficient justification of the need to
collect this sensitive information. Consultants are already asked
to certify that they have not been subject to debarment and it is
therefore making the relevance of the SSN less clear. Should HUD
want to include this data element, it must submit to OMB sufficient
justification, including an explanation of the use of this
data.
