We have
reinstated OMB approval of the information collection require ments
included under this number. We have alos approved revisions to t
existing information collection requirements which appear at 30 CFR
Pa 75. Portions of 1219-0084 and 1219-0052 have been incorporated
into this review package. Due to allowances for improved monitoring
monitoring technology, and administrative changes, MSHA has
decreased the information collection burden associated with these
requirements by 1,242,678 hours. An additional decrease in total
burd of 869,825 hours occurred due to a decline in the number of
mines.

TO MONITOR THE VENTILATION SYSTEM IN UNDERGROUND COAL MINES. THE
INFORMATION IS USED TO INSURE THAT THE INTEGRITY OF THE VENTILATION
SYSTEM IS BEING MAINTAINED AND THAT A SAF WORKING ENVIRONMENT IS
BEING PROVIDED TO MINERS.
