agreed that if Q. 6 indicates a significant number of applican
submitting the same neuroscience proposal to more than one agency
at t same time, further study of this issue will be made in
coordination wi the other agencies to determine if policy changes
can reduce duplication.

THE NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION HAS
ACTIVELY SUPPORTED NEUROSCIENCE RESEARCH THROUGHOUT THE PERIOD OF
RAPID GROWTH OVER THE PAST TWO DECADES. THIS EVALUATION STUDY WILL
ATTEMPT TO DETERMINE NSF'S ROLE COMPARED TO NIH/ADAMHA IN
IDENTIFYING AND SUPPORTING NEW INVESTIGATORS AND NEW AREAS OF
NEUROSCIENCE RESEARCH.
