consultation with the Office of National Drug Control Policy,
ADAMHA amends the instrument so that it is more consistent with the
National Maternal and Child Health Survey. o ADAMHA should ensure
that the limitation on birth outcomes as discussed in its
correpondence to OMB dated 6/12/91 is high- lighted in any reported
findings from this study.

THIS STUDY, WHICH WILL AFFECT
CHILD-BEARING WOMEN OF THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES, IS NECESSARY
TO DETERMINE THE PREVALENCE AND PATTERNS O CIGARETTE, ALCOHOL AND
DRUG USE DURING PREGNANCY. THE RESULTS WILL BE USED BY NIDA, ONDCP,
GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, CONCERNED ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS TO
DIRECT THEIR ACTIVITIES AND ESTABLISH POLICY.
