collection request is approved subject to the following: (1) SSA
will use the first 300 responses as an imbedded pretest, paying
particular attention to overall nonresponse and item nonresponse.
(2) Careful review should be made of responses that require long
term recall, i.e., questions about activities since the last
beneficiary survey in 1982. (3) Any substantive changes made as a
result of the analysis of the pretest findings should be submitted
to OMB for review. OMB will review these changes in an expedited
manner.

BENEFICIARIES, FORMER BENEFICIARIES AND SURVIVORS. THE AFFECTED
PUBLIC IS COMPRISED OF RESPONDENTS TO THE 198 NEW BENEFICIARY
SURVEY, THEIR SURVIVORS AND CERTAIN FORMER DISABILITY BENEFICIARIES
WHO HAVE RETURNED TO WORK.
