In accordance
with the Paperwork Reduction Act and 5 CFR 1320, this information
collection has been approved for three years with a burden of one
hour pending the issuance of the final rule by FSIS. At the time
the agency issues the final rule, FSIS should send an invento
correction worksheet which states the total hours requested. The
Agen should also consider while reviewing the comments for the
proposed rul whether their estimate of the burden (one hour) is
adequate.

THE AGENCY HAS DETERMINED THAT
REQUIRING FOREIGN COUNTRIES TO SUBMIT ANNUAL RESIDUE CONTROL PLANS
FOR MEAT AND POULTRY PRODUCTS PRODUCED FO EXPORT TO THE UNITED
STATES WOULD INCREASE ASSURANCE THAT FOREIGN INSPECTION SYSTEMS
MAINTAIN RESIDUE CONTROLS THAT ARE AT LEAST EQUAL TO THE CONTROLS
APPLIED BY THE FEDERAL INSPECTION SYSTEM IN THE UNITED
STATES.
