We have once
again extended approval of the existing paperwork requirements to
allow time for the completion of the final rule on ventilation in
underground coal mines. As MSHA expects to publish the final rule
at the end of 1990, we have extended approval through January,
1991. Please see previous approvals for comments on the proposed
paperwork requirements.

REQUIRES THAT RECORDS BE KEPT OF
CERTAIN TESTS AND EXAMINATIONS WHICH ARE REQUIRED TO BE PERFORMED
TO MONITOR THE VENTILATION SYSTEM IN UNDERGROUND COAL MINES. THE
INFORMATION IS USED TO INSURE THAT THE INTEGRITY OF THE VENTILATION
SYSTEM IS BEING MAINTAINED AND THAT A SAF WORKING ENVIRONMENT IS
BEING PROVIDED TO MINERS.
