this information collection for 4 months to provide HUD with
additional time to examine existing financial management problems
in the modernization program. When HUD next resubmits this
information collection for review, it must indicate the status of
its review of the modernization program, a schedule for completing
that review, the extent to which the review will focus on the RHPS
cash disbursement system, and how HUD intends to address the issue
of the quality of information provided through the RHPS system
(which the RHPS system does not currently allow).

THE UNITED STATES HOUSING ACT OF 1937,
AS AMENDED, AUTHORIZES HUD TO ASSIST PUBLIC HOUSING AGENCIES
(PHA'S) AND INDIAN HOUSING AUTHORITIES (IHA'S) IN THE DEVELOPMENT
AND REHABILITATION OF LOWER INCOME HOUSING. THE FINANCIAL
ASSISTANCE IS OBTAINED BY THE PHA/IHA SUBMITTING TO HUD AN APPROVED
REQUISITION FOR DEVELOPMENT AND MODERNIZATION FUNDS
