THE 1990 DECENNIAL CENSUS WILL COVER
THE POPULATION AND HOUSING CHARACTERISTICS OF ALL RESIDENTS IN THE
VIRGIN ISLANDS OF THE UNITED STATES. ARTICLE 1, SECTION 2, OF THE
UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION CALLS FOR A CENSUS TO BE CONDUCTED AT
LEAST EVERY 10 YEARS. GENSUS DATA ARE ALSO USED TO ALLOCATE
TERRITORIAL AND FEDERAL FUNDS AND IN PRIVATE SECTOR
DECISION-MAKING.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
