49 CFR 395.8(1) PROVIDES AN EXEMPTION
FROM THE DRIVER'S RECORD OF DUTY STATUS IF ACCURATE TIME RECORDS
ARE MAINTAINED. TIME RECORDS ARE USED BY FHWA AND CARRIERS TO
DETERMINE COMPLIANCE WITH MAXIMUM TIME LIMITATIONS REQUIRED BY 49
CFR 395.3 AND TO DETERMINE OVERALL SAFETY COMPLIANCE
STATUS.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
