This information
collection request is not responsive to the OMB notice of action,
dated 7/24/88, that required INS to complete a review of all
naturalization requirements associated with the naturalization
interview in order to identify candidates for consolidation. Before
resubmission, INS shall plan a thorough review of information
collections associated with the naturalization process and submit
this plan to OMB with a new request for OMB review. It is also
suggested that the plan and a specific timetable for implementation
be formulated as part of the FY 1990 Information Collection Budget
Request (see OMB Bulletin 89-10 of August 22, 1989). OMB also
requires that the plan provide for an adequate accounting of the
information collection burden associated with the naturalization
process which appears to be far greater than the estimates
associated with Form N-430 as set forth in the response to question
13 in the supporting statement for this request.
