THE GRANTEE PROPOSES TO CONDUCT A
NATIONWIDE SURVEY OF THE 50 STATE DEPARTMENTS OF CORRECTIONS, THE
DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS, AND THE FEDERAL
BUREAU OF PRISONS IN ORDER TO OBTAIN SELECTED INFORMATION WITH
WHICH TO UPDATE A 1984 STUDY OF LONG-TERM OFFENDERS. THE
INFORMATION OBTAINED WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR CORRECTIONA
ADMINISTRATORS TO USE IN MANAGING THEIR INMATE
POPULATIONS.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
