THIS INFORMATION COLLECTION IS NEEDED
TO MAKE CERTAIN THAT ALL VESSELS CARRYING OIL TRANSPORTED THROUGH
THE TRANS-ALASKA PIPELINE CAN MEET STATUTORY LIABILITY FOR OIL
POLLUTION. WHEN ALL INFORMATION IS COLLECTED, A CERTIFICATE OF
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (ALASKA PIPELINE) IS ISSUED AND USED TO
SHOW U.S. COAST GUARD OFFICIALS THAT THE VESSEL IS IN
COMPLIANCE.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
