CORONARY HEART DISEASE IS THE MAJOR
CAUSE OF DEATH IN USA. MANY ORGANIZATIONS RECOMMEND REDUCING
DIETARY INTAKE OF CHOLESTEROL AS A PREVENTIVE MEASURE. CURRENT
CHOLESTEROL LABELING REGULATIONS ARE VERY RESTRICTIVE. FDA IS
PROPOSING TO AMEND REGULATIONS TO ALLOW LABELING CLAIMS AND TO
PROVIDE USEFUL INFORMATION TO CONSUMERS INTERESTED IN LOWERING
CHOLESTEROL INTAKE.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
