In accordance
with E.O. No. 12291 review and approval under the Paperwork
Reduction Act, the information collection is approved for use
through February 1989. The USDA Farmers Home Administration (FmHA)
should review the instructions to see if a reduction in burden can
be achieved through simplification of the general instructions and
individual application for FmHA services. The reduction and
simplification for applying for these services will be one of the
subjects for the Information Collection Budget meeting to be
scheduled later in September. The FmHA will review the uses for
which the information is collected to determine if all the
information is required. Particular attention should be given to
assuring that all the information requested is indeed, first,
relevant to selecting applicants to receive assistance and, second,
that all duplicative information is eliminated.
