management systems and data requirements control list (amsdl)
identifies all acquisition management system/service documents and
data item descriptions authorized for contractual application by
the department of defense. the conditions of the june 17, 1986
approval remain in effect. approval is until june of l989,
contingent upon the department actively pursuing public comment on
the data item descriptions (dids) that it uses to collect data from
contractors. the department, through a notice published in the
federal register, should notify the public of its plans and
timetable for seeking comments on groups of dids, publish notices
soliciting comment concerning related, understandable groups of
dids in the federal register, provide interested parties copies of
the data items upon request and a reasonable opportunity to
comment, analyse all comments received, and make changes to or
eliminate dids as appropriate based upon comments received.
