In accordance
with the Paperwork Reduction Act and 5 CFR 1320 the current
Population Survey June 1988 Fertility, Birth Expections,
Immigration and Emigration Supplement is approved thru August 1988
on the following conditions as agreed to by the Census Bureau 1)
the fertility questions nos. 33-39 are asked no more frequently
than every 2nd year hereafter since the changes from year to year
are not statistically significant and 2) One month prior to the
next request for clearance of the questions on Emigration, the
Census Bureau shall provide a report to OMB on the Weighting,
benchmarking, analysis and uses of the data.

THIS SURVEY WILL PROVIDE INFORMATION
ON THE FERTILITY AND BIRTH EXPECTATIONS OF WOMEN, BOTH NATIVE AND
FOREIGN BORN, BY VARIOUS DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS. THE
IMMIGRATION ITEMS WILL PROVIDE INFORMATION FOR EVALUATING
IMMIGRATION AND NATURALIZATION POLICIES. THE EMIGRATION DATA WILL
PROVIDE ESTIMAT FOR EVALUATING BOTH CURRENT POPULATION ESTIMATES
AND 1990 CENSUS COVERAGE.
