In accordance
with 5 CFR 1320, OMB approves this information collection until
September 30, 1988. When it resubmits this collection for approval,
EDA must carefully justify the practical utility of the information
collected. EDA must demonstrate that the employment data asked for
on the form is required to fulfill EDA's statutory
responsibilities. In particular, EDA must show why it needs
detailed information on job titles, dates for individual hires and
terminations, recruiting resources, and department. In addition,
EDA should compare its civil rights compliance program to those of
other grantmaking agencies, and should explain why it is not
possible to simply accept a certification of compliance in lieu of
these detailed information requirements.
