THE GRANTEE PROPOSES TO CONDUCT A
NATIONWIDE SURVEY OF APPROXIMATELY 150 JAILS IN ORDER TO COLLECT
INFORMATION ABOUT THEIR CLASSIFICATION SYSTEMS. ONLY JAILS THAT
HAVE VOLUNTEERED TO PARTICIPATE WILL BE SURVEYED. THE INFORMATION
OBTAINED WILL BE USED TO DEVELOP A MODEL OBJECTIVE JAIL
CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
