Approval is for
2 years, pending further DOD-DOT study of using commercial data
bases and system capabilities to price the transpor tation of
commercial-type freight. This approval includes use of the standard
tender under new accessoria service rules for rail, pipeline, tank
truck, driveaway, towaway, and water carriers, provided that there
is no information collection burde imposed by those rules beyond
what is apparent in the tender. If additional burden will be
imposed by such rules, or there is a change in MTMC class Rate Pub.
No. 100 or MTMC Freight Traffic Rules Pub. No. (from drafts
available for comment) that imposes additional informatio
collection burden, an amendment to this clearance and justification
of that burden is required. Remarks added, effective 08/15/87: This
approval includes optional use of the state-to-state matrix.

AUTOMATION INITIATIVES AND DOD OBJECTIVES TO REDUCE PAPER-BURDENED,
MANUAL OPERATIONS.
