AGENCY SHALL HAVE RE-ESTIMATED THE BURDEN HOURS REQUIRED TO UPDATE
COMPLIANCE PROGRAMS AND EMERGENCY PLANS. IN ADDITION, THE AGENCY
SHALL COMPLETELY JUSTIFY THE NEED FOR AND PRACTICAL UTILITY OF THE
REQUIREMENT TO CONDUCT MONTHLY INSPECTIONS OF EMERGENCY-USE
RESPIRATORS, OR SHALL CONVERT THIS REQUIREMENT TO A CERTIFICATION
IN ACCORDANCE WITH 5CFR1320.7(K)(1).

THIS REGULATION REQUIRES EMPLOYERS TO
ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN ACCURATE RECORDS OR EXPOSURE MONITORING AND
MEDICAL SURVEILLANCE FOR EMPLOYEES EXPOSED TO ETHYLENE OXIDE (ETO).
THESE RECORDS WILL BE USED BY EMPLOYERS, EMPLOYEES, PHYSICIANS AND
THE GOVERNMENT TO ASSURE THAT WORK PLACE EXPOSURE TO ETO DOES NOT
ADVERSEL AFFECT THE HEALTH OF EMPLOYEES.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
