Comments were
received indicating the cost and burden hour estimates were
inaccurate. OSM has agreed to more closely examine these estimates
through solicitation of comments in the NPRM, surveys of ess than
10, and, if necessary, larger surveys. OSM has also agreed review
this clearance package more carefully to ensure that the
justification is accurate and up to date. Finally, OSM agreed to
review the regulations and to look for further burden hour
reductions, specifically looking at requirements that are
comparable to those under the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water
Act.
