IRS IS ATTEMPTING TO UPDATE ITS
KNOWLEDGE CONCERNING TAXPAYERS' VIEWS ON TOPICS RELATED TO IRS'
ADMINISTRATION OF THE TAX SYSTEM. THE LAST IRS PUBLIC OPINION
SURVEY WAS CONDUCTED IN 1980. RESEARCH HAS SHOWN THAT TAXPAYER
ATTITUDES/OPINONS HAVE CHANGED SIGNIFICANTLY SINCE THE LAST SURVEY.
SURVEY SAMPLE WILL BE COMPRISED OF 2000 NON-INSTITUTIONALIZED
TAXPAYERS IN THE CONTERMINOUS U.S.
