THE SEC, WITHOUT PRIOR CONSULTATION
WITH THIS OFFICE, HAS PROPOSED A RULE THAT, IF ADOPTED, WOULD
REQUIRE BANKS THAT PROVIDE CERTAIN BROKERAGE SERVICES SERVICES TO
REGISTER WITH SEC. SEC HAS REQUESTED THAT OCC CONSULT ON THE SEC
RULEMAKING IN ORDE TO MINIMIZE BURDENS ON BANKS. INFORMATION TO BE
COLLECTED IS NECESSARY FOR OCC TO COORDINATE WITH SEC.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
