THE FOREST SERVICE PROPOSES TO REVISE
ITS REGULATIONS FOR THE DISPOSAL OF MINERAL MATERIALS ON NATIONAL
FOREST LANDS. THE EXISTING REGULATIONS WERE PROMULGATED IN RESPONSE
TO SEPARATE LEGISLATIVE AUTHORITIES, AND RESULTANT INCONSISTENCES
HAVE CREATED PROCEDURAL CONFUSION. THE INTENDED EFFECT OF THIS
PROPOSED RULE IS PROVIDED A CONSISTENT SET OF CLEAR PROCEDURES TO
FOLLOW FOR THE DISPOSAL OF MINER MATERIALS.
