CONGRESS DIRECTED CPSC TO 1) CONDUCT A
STUDY OF THE EFFECT ON CONSUMER OF THE CONGRESSIONAL AMENDMENT TO
THE CPSC MOWER SAFETY STANDARD AND 2 TO REPORT TO CONGRESS THE
RESULTS OF THE STUDY BY JUNE 30, 1984. INFORMATION WILL BE
COLLECTED ON CONSUMERS' OPERATION PATTERNS AND ACCEPTANCE OF MOWERS
MEETING THE OPTIONS PERMITTED BY THE INITIAL STANDARD AND THOSE
MEETING THE ADDITIONAL OPTIONS PERMITTED BY THE AMENDMENT TO THE
STANDARD.
