FORM 6269 IS USED TO NOTIFY TAXPAYERS
OF EXAMINATION APPOINTMENTS AND INFORMS THEM OF THE NEED TO PROVIDE
VERIFYING RECORDS USED AS A BASIS FOR THE ITEMS CHECKED AT THE END
OF THE LETTER. THE IRS USES THIS INFORMATION TO DETERMINE AND
RECOMMEND AN INCREASE, DECREASE, OR NO CHANGE TO THE TAX LIABILITY
FOR A GIVEN YEAR.
