clearance is approved for use through October 1982. For extension
or revision of this approval, the Board is to explain why this
information cannot be collected from a slightly modified version of
the weekly IBF report. By changing only a few items on the weekly
report, it would appear to give the Board the same information as
the quarterly report. If there are any statutory barriers to
collecting the quarterly information from the weekly data, please
explain in detail.

THE REPORTS PROVIDE INFORMATION NEEDED
BY THE FEDERAL RESERVE TO MONITOR INTERNATIONAL BANKING FACILITIES
(IBF). THESE REPORTS ENABLE THE USER TO ADJUST REPORT OF CONDITION
INFORMATION FOR IBF ASSETS AND LIABILITIES. AMONG OTHER THINGS
THESE DATA WILL BE USED IN INTERPRETTING MONETARY AGGREGATES AND
BANK CREDIT MEASURES.
